🗓 Itinerary Overview
05:00 AM – Early Morning Pickup
Your adventure begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Kigali. After a brief introduction by your Velox Reserve guide, set off in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for optimal game viewing. The scenic drive to Akagera National Park takes approximately 3 hours, with a brief en-route stop for coffee or a restroom break.
08:30 AM – Arrive at Akagera National Park
On arrival, complete park registration and receive a short orientation at the park reception. From here, begin your guided game drive, starting in the southern sector and gradually heading north toward the open plains of Kilala, known for excellent wildlife sightings.
Wildlife & Game Drive
Throughout the day, your guide will help you track and observe Akagera’s diverse wildlife. Look out for:
Lions, Elephants, Rhinos & Leopards (The Big Five)
Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Waterbucks, Warthogs
A wide variety of bird species
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic spot inside the park.
Late Afternoon – Return to Kigali
After a rewarding day in the wild, begin your drive back to Kigali, arriving in the early evening. Drop-off will be at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
