This adventure combines immersive wildlife encounters with cultural discovery, including a visit to the powerful Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Welcome to Rwanda
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, a Velox Reserve representative will warmly greet you and provide a short briefing about your journey ahead. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel to unwind and enjoy your first evening in Rwanda.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, meet your private guide for a guided tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial—a deeply moving and essential stop that shares Rwanda’s history and journey of resilience.
After the city tour, depart for Volcanoes National Park, a scenic drive through Rwanda’s lush countryside and rolling hills. Settle into your lodge, located near the park entrance, where you’ll prepare for the gorilla trek the following day.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Rise early for breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and etiquette. Accompanied by expert rangers, begin your trek through the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains in search of a gorilla family. Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, taking in the serenity of your surroundings.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trek – Return to Kigali & Departure
This morning, embark on a Golden Monkey trek—a lighter, equally rewarding forest experience. These playful, endangered primates are found only in the Virunga Mountains and offer wonderful photo opportunities and behavioral insights.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, then travel back to Kigali. If time allows, explore the local craft markets or revisit the genocide memorial before your transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
